Fall Festival

Our church is hosting a Fall Festival the last weekend in October. We are having carnival games, some local vendors, a magician, inflatables to play on, a rock climbing wall & my favorite band from Knoxville, Dishwater Blonde!!! Yay..I'm so excited. I think Angie is taking Friday & Monday off, so we will have a 4 day weekend together. We can shop & shop. Then Davis and the band are not coming down to Sunday and spending the night Sunday night. Should be lots of fun, my church may never be the same!!!

Lowest Gas Price In Flowery Branch

I searched online today to find the lowest gas price in Flowery Branch, Ga. This place does'nt tell you if they actually have gas there!!! A Chevron station on Mundy Mill Rd. is $3.71, but I don't know if they actually have gas! Ray went to three different places last night to fill up my car, because they were all out of gas.
Anyway, today me, Tyler & Corey are going "Goodwillin". Tyler & I usually go on Wednesday. He likes to look at records and I just like to look at junk, although on our last outing I did find some Marc Jacob shoes for $4.99. I found them online for $275!! Tyler bought a Nintendo 64 for $20 last week. We found 1 Goodwill in Duluth, and 2 in Lawrencevill that we are going ot hit today!
Keep your fingers crossed on Wednesday, Sept. 17th. Tyler has a callback interview with Gamestop!!

New Bethany 5K Community Benefit Run

Our church sponsored it's first benefit run this past Saturday. We all wanted the t-shirt, so we all signed up. Believe it or not we all finished the race in some way, shape or form. Ray finished at 25.57.8,Corey was next at 30.43.6, I barely made it in at 45.09.3, and Tyler , competing with some guys to finish dead last, finished at 48.38.6( not dead last,by the way). A girl at our church, won her age group. She walked the whole thing, her time was 55.27.6. I think she must have been the only girl in the 16-18 age group!!
Ray finished 4th in his age group, I was 9th in my age group, Tyler was 7th in his age group, Corey was 10th in his age group, but he had to compete with the West Hall Track Team!!
Anyway it was fun and we lived through it!!!

Something from the lighter side........

I'm reading a non-fiction book by Shellie Rushing Tomlinson. The name of the book is "Suck Your Stomach In & Put Some Color On......What Southern Mamas Tell Their Daughters That the Rest of Ya'll Should Know Too" She has compiled sayings, stories & recipes from various Southern Mamas.
Some of these I have heard before, some from my own mother....here are just a few that I really enjoyed.

Attitude: "You can get glad in the same pants you got mad in" "When you educate a man, you educate one person. When you educate a woman, you educate a whole family." "It's okay to fall down, just don't waller in it"

Dating & Sex: "Never let any boy lower than your neckline and higher than your dresstail." "You can always tell when a young lady is having sex because it makes her hips wide."

Marriage: "Never put your husband in a situation where he has to choose between you and his mother." On married sex: "Be as pleasant as possible and remember to exclaim over special treats."

Pregnancy & Children: "If a girl got married and a baby came less than 9 months later, Mama would say, 'I think she lost her notching stick.'" "if it washes out or grows out, it doesn't hurt anyone. Don't worry about it"

Cooking : "Your looks will fade, but his appetite won't." "Can what you can, and what you can't can, fry in a pan."

Housekeeping: "Keep the house as if the preacher and his wife were coming to visit." "Never sweep the porch in your company's face, meaning that if company was on your porch, it was too late to sweep."

Beauty & Fashion: "If God had wanted you to have holes in your head , he would've put them there." "Wash as far as possible, and then wash possible." "Don't go barefoot until after Easter." "Just because it fits doesn't mean you outta wear it."

Being a Lady: "Ladies never answer the door barefoot." "Don't have something in your mouth that you wouldn't hold in your hand.(pertaining to bad language)"

Manners & Social Graces: "If a dog will carry a bone to your yard, he will carry it to someone else's yard.(if someone tells you a tale on someone else, they'll also tell others a tale on you)" "If you don't remmeber your manners, everyone else will."

This blog is just to keep everyone up to date on the exciting happenings here in Georgia!!! I'll try to keep it short and sweet and not list every boring detail of life.
Hopefully, I'll keep it updated every week and maybe Tyler & Corey will add something now and then.
